Hiking Tours

Squamish, British Columbia, is a paradise for hiking enthusiasts with its diverse range of trails that offer breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and forests. We offer three types of hikes with local guides:

Summit

Hikes the iconic spots in the region; The Chief, Sea To Summit, and Mt Crumpit. Summit hikes are physically challenging but rewarding, offering stunning views.

Waterfall

Squamish is also known for its beautiful waterfalls including Shannon Falls and Brandywine Falls.

Forest

Squamish is surrounded by lush forests, that wind through the dense foliage. We offer a 3 hour trip to our favorite forested trail, the Tantalus Lookout Trail.

The Chief

Difficulty: Advanced and physically demanding

Duration: 4 hours

Our 4-hour hike of the Chief is an excellent way to experience the natural beauty of this area while challenging yourself physically.

We’ll meet at the parking lot of the Sea to Sky Gondola. From there, the trail gradually ascends through the forest, passing by towering Douglas Fir trees and lush undergrowth. As you climb higher, the trail becomes steeper and more challenging, but also more rewarding in terms of the views.

About halfway up the trail, you will reach the First Peak, which offers a stunning panoramic view of the town of Squamish and the Howe Sound. This is a great spot to take a break, catch your breath, and snap some photos.

Continuing on from the First Peak, the trail becomes even steeper and more technical, requiring some scrambling and careful footwork. The second peak is the highest point of the Chief, and offers an even more breathtaking view of the surrounding landscape. You will feel a sense of exhilaration and accomplishment as you stand atop the rocky summit and take in the stunning scenery.

After soaking in the view, it's time to head back down the trail, which can be just as challenging as the ascent.

With its stunning natural beauty and challenging terrain, the Chief is a must-see destination for any hiker visiting the Squamish area.

Overall, a 4-hour hike of the Chief is a challenging but rewarding experience that will leave you with memories and photo’s to last a lifetime.

It's important to come prepared with sturdy footwear, plenty of water, and a sense of adventure.

Sea to Summit

Difficulty: Advanced, physically demanding with some scrambling and use of ropes.

Duration: 5 hours

The tour begins at the base of the Sea to Sky Gondola, From there, your guide will lead you on a 7.5-kilometer hike that ascends over 900 meters through old-growth forests and rocky terrain.

Along the way, your guide will point out interesting flora and fauna, as well as share stories about the region's history and the logging industry that once thrived in the area. You'll also have the opportunity to take in stunning views of Howe Sound and the surrounding mountains as you ascend to the summit.

At the top of the trail, you'll reach the famous Sea to Sky Gondola Sky Pilot Suspension Bridge, a 100-meter long suspension bridge that offers stunning views of the valley below. Your guide will take you across the bridge.

After crossing the bridge, you'll reach the summit lodge, where you can take a break to refuel while enjoying the panoramic views of the surrounding landscape.

We will descend using the gondola and the pass is included in the trip. Hiking down is not recommended.

Mt Crumpit

Difficulty: Difficult, physically demanding.

Duration: 2 hours

The Mt. Crumpit hike is a challenging but rewarding hike that takes you through lush forests and offers stunning views of the Squamish Valley.

We’ll meet at the Adventure Centre located in downtown Squamish and drive to the Mt. Crumpit trailhead: The Mt. Crumpit trailhead is located about 10 minutes away.

The hike begins with a steep ascent that takes you up to the ridge.

Enjoy the views: Once you reach the ridge, take a moment to catch your breath and enjoy the stunning views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. On a clear day, you can see all the way to the ocean.

From the ridge, the trail continues to climb to the summit of Mt. Crumpit. This final stretch is the most challenging part of the hike, but the views from the top are well worth the effort.

Reach the summit: Congratulations, you made it to the summit of Mt. Crumpit! Take some time to soak in the views and snap some photos.

Descend back to the trailhead. We’ll follow the same trail back down to the trailhead.

Return to the Adventure Centre by car for refreshments.

Keep in mind that the suggested 2-hour itinerary is based on a relatively fast pace and assumes good weather and trail conditions. If you're new to hiking or prefer a more leisurely pace, you may want to allow for more time on the trail.

Waterfall

The Waterfall Explorer

Difficulty: easy

Duration: 3.5 hours

A minimum of 3 guests are required for this trip to run.

9:00 AM - Meet at Squamish Adventure Centre: You'll meet your guide at the Squamish Adventure Centre, where you'll get a brief orientation.

9:15 AM - Depart for Shannon Falls: Your group will board a comfortable van and head to Shannon Falls Provincial Park, which is approximately 5 minutes away.

9:30 AM - Arrival at Shannon Falls: Upon arrival, you'll have the opportunity to explore the area around Shannon Falls, which is the third highest waterfall in British Columbia, with a height of 335 meters. You can take a short hike to the viewing platform, where you can admire the falls and take some photos.

10:30 AM - Depart for Brandywine Falls: After exploring Shannon Falls, you'll board the van and head to Brandywine Falls Provincial Park, which is approximately a 30-minute drive away.

11:00 AM - Arrival at Brandywine Falls: Upon arrival, you'll hike a short distance to the viewing platform to see Brandywine Falls, which cascades down 70 meters into a rocky canyon.

12:00 PM - Depart for Squamish Adventure Centre: where you'll arrive at approximately 12:30 PM.

This trip will take approximately 3.5 hours, including transportation time and hiking time at both waterfalls. It's a great way to experience two of British Columbia's most beautiful waterfalls in a single day, without having to worry about transportation or logistics.

FOREST

Tantalus View

Difficulty: Easy

Duration: 3 hours

9:00 AM - Meet at Squamish Adventure Centre: You'll meet your guide at the Squamish Adventure Centre, where you'll get a brief orientation.

9:15 AM - Depart for Brohm Lake: Your group will board a comfortable vehicle and head to the trail head which is approximately 10 minutes away.

9:30 AM begin hike. As you hike deeper into the forest, you'll start to encounter steeper terrain and rocky outcroppings. The trail offers a mix of shade and sun, with many opportunities to pause and take in the scenery.

After approximately 1 hours of hiking, you'll arrive at The Lookout. This is a perfect spot to take a break, have a picnic, and soak in the beauty of the Tantalus Mountain Range.

11:30 AM Depart for Squamish Adventure Centre: where you'll arrive at approximately 11:45 AM.
